HOPE MILLS, N.C. -

Hundreds of motorcycles filled the parking lot at Hella's in Hope Mills Sunday afternoon to remember the life of 15-year-old Danielle Locklear.

Organizers planned a charity ride and fundraiser for the slain teen -- a sentiment that Danielle's mother, Rowna Fowler, said is a blessing.

"I just feel so much love," she said. "I see all these guys and all these ladies out here and showing support for my daughter and I feel so blessed."

Danielle's body was pulled from the South River nearly a month after she went missing on March 11.

It is a tragic story that hit home for many people in Cumberland County, including Keith Bowen, who planned the charity ride and fundraiser.

"I just want to show the family they aren't going through this alone," he said. "This is our city. We want to stand up and help them go through this darkest hour.

"When someone loses their life, you don't want to mourn, you want to celebrate their life and I just want to give her the biggest party she's ever had."

Bowen said the ride is meant to show support to Danielle's family, but it's also to raise money. Raffle tickets were sold in addition to other items, and all the money raised will go to the family to cover funeral expenses.

Locklear's ex-boyfriend, 17-year-old Je'michael Malloy, admitted to choking her to death after the two got into a fight. He is charged with second degree murder.

Locklear's family said they want justice for the girl, who was taken too soon.
