Panel searching for WSSU chancellor to meet Monday

Posted: Updated:
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - One of North Carolina's public universities is launching its hunt for a new leader.
The Winston-Salem Journal reports that the search committee for a new chancellor at Winston-Salem State University holds its first meeting Monday.
University of North Carolina System President Tom Ross will meet with the committee and three search firms will make presentations. The 20-member committee will discuss a tentative timeline for the search to replace current Chancellor Donald Reaves at the historically black university.
Reaves said last month he will step down after seven years but will stay at the school as a full-time political science instructor. Reaves remain as chancellor through the end of the year.
