FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Fayetteville police have identified a suspect in connection with a shooting April 16 in a Food Lion parking lot.

Rashaun Markel White, 22, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflicting serious injury in connection with the April 16 shooting of 39-year-old Wendell Thomas.

White is also charged attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and felonious conspiracy.

Police said White is associated with multiple addresses in Harnett County -- where he also has pending warrants for his arrest -- and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Thomas was shot around 3:45 p.m. while he sat in his vehicle in the parking lot of the Food Lion on Rose Hill Road. Surveillance footage shows two men approaching Thomas' vehicle prior to the shooting.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the shooting and additional warrants may be forthcoming.

Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Rashaun White is asked to call detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 433-1856.
