TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

Hundreds of Express Scripts employees found out they were losing their jobs on Tuesday.

Company spokesperson Brian Henry confirmed that the pharmacy benefit management organization would eliminate 390 positions at their front end pharmacy in Tampa. The layoffs will happen between now and the end of the year.

Henry says the layoffs are due to a decline in prescription volume, and a need to "rebalance our resources across the company to work more efficiently".

330 employees will be retained in Tampa in contact center, quality assurance, and pharmacy operations, said Henry.
