Durham's Barley Labs finally gets TV spot

Posted: Updated:
DURHAM, N.C. -

Although Barley Labs of Durham didn’t win Intuit’s Super Bowl commercial contest, the dog treat company is finally getting a commercial thanks to software maker, reports the Triangle Business Journal.

According to the TBJ, Scott Beaudry and Theresa Chu flew to Los Angeles to see the filming of the commercial.

Beaudry and his girlfriend Chu created Barley Labs and made the treats in their Durham home from the left over grains of local breweries.

The Triangle Business Journal reports that Barley Labs has been working with Intuit and its ad agency, RPA, for more than a month. The commercial has started airing on FoxSports1 and FoxSports2 and will air through June 21.

Barley Labs dog treats are sold at nine locations in the Triangle, as well as a retailer in Burlington and Roanoke, Va.
