Durham restaurant owner charged with trafficking heroin

DURHAM, N.C. -

The Durham Police Department said the owner of the Tasty Haven restaurant was arrested Tuesday on heroin trafficking charges.

Police said search warrants were served at Tasty Haven at 518 East Trinity Ave. and homes on Oxboro Circle and Birch Run Drive Tuesday in connection with the investigation into Shelby Andrew Wilson.

Police said a long-term undercover operation resulted in 117.8 grams of heroin and two firearms being confiscated.

Wilson, 48, was arrested and charged with:

  •  Trafficking heroin level 3;
  •  Seven counts of trafficking heroin Level 1
  •  Two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  •  Possession of a stolen firearm
  •  Eight counts of maintaining a dwelling/business for the manufacture, sale or delivery of controlled substances
  •  Eight counts of possession of heroin with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver
  •  Six counts of sale of heroin
  •  Six counts of delivery of heroin

Durham police said Wilson was transported to the Durham County Jail under a $5,000,000 bond.
