DURHAM, N.C. -

Durham police said one man is dead following a deadly shooting Tuesday in the 900 block of East Main Street.

Officers responded to a traffic accident near the intersection of East Main Street and Alston Avenue shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday. When they arrived, they found a man inside a Nissan Altima, which had struck a pole.

The driver of the Altima, 26-year-old Abdur Rasheed Ali Muslim, II, had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe Muslim may have been shot during an argument with another person. Police do not believe the incident is random.

Durham police are still searching for the shooting suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator J. Barr at (919) 560-4440, ext. 29325 or CrimeStoppers at (919) 683-1200.
