ERWIN, Tenn. -- We're still seeing a college signing here and there, and Monday the honor went to Unicoi County's Ryan Lingerfelt.
After a standout career for the Blue Devils, he has the opportunity to continue his baseball career at Carson-Newman. Lingerfelt hit .368 with 36 runs batted in and 29 runs in his senior season, and he's excited about the opportunity for his career on the diamond to continue.
"It's a great feeling," Lingerfelt said. "I put in the work the last four years hoping for a day like today. It's great to have my family and my teammates and my family with me. It's something I've worked for and worked toward the last four years, and I'm just glad to be here today."
He plans to major in exercise science at Carson-Newman with plans to go to physical therapy school after that.
