GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. -

Many potential buyers took advantage of the preview on Friday.

“Yeah, I will be here first thing in the morning,” said Shavona Wiggins.

“There is a lot more than what I thought would have been here,” added Alan Walker.

Whether you are a novice auction hunter or an experienced pro, officials say there are plenty of deals to be had.

“I have already got a list of things I have found,” said Robert Hunter.

The items will go to the highest bidder.

Money generated from the sale will go into the county’s general fund which pays for things like public safety, human resources, fleet management and public works.

“This is a win-win situation,” said Alan Fairfield, Director of the County’s Fleet Management.

In 2013, the auction raised $210,000. Fairfield says more items this year will be up for bid this year, so they hope to raise even more cash.

There are more than 100 vehicles for sale. Buyers will also find tools, office equipment, computers, televisions, clothes, jewelry, radar detectors, golf clubs and more.

There will be a second preview Saturday beginning at 8 a.m.

Bidding starts at 10 a.m.
