DURHAM, N.C. -

Police arrested a man Friday in connection with the robbery of a SunTrust bank in Durham.

Major Edwards Jr., 50, was arrested and charged with robbing the SunTrust bank located at 1516 N. Gregson St. around noon Friday.

Police say Edwards entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. Police say the note also threatened the teller, although he never presented a weapon during the robbery.

Police say he left the banks with an undisclosed amount of money.
