Summer festival continues after Friday's storms

WASHINGTON, N.C. - The 31st Annual Summer Festival in Washington continued on Saturday. 

On Friday night, a tornado warning and heavy rain forced the event to shutdown early. 

The festival features a street fair with vendors, rides, food, and arts& crafts. Also joining the festival this year. Dock Dogs, a canine aquatics competition. 

The festival also features free sailboat rides and concerts. On Sunday, The North Carolina Symphony will close out the festival with a free concert. 

Despite Friday's rain out, hundreds of people gathered at the Washington Waterfront to enjoy day two of the festival. 

The festival is organized by the Washington Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce.
