VALRICO, FL (WFLA) - The family of a missing 16-year-old girl is intensifying its search and is now offering $10,000 for her safe return.

Ashley Lyon has been missing since Wednesday. Authorities said Ashley may be with Steven Myers, a sex offender who lives in Plant City.

“I’m terrified; I’m scared to death and frustrated," said Michelle Lyon, Ashley's mother. "I just want her to come home. You’re not in trouble. I need her to come home.”

Michelle, her husband Roger, a brother-in-law and friend handed out fliers at a shopping center in Valrico Saturday afternoon.

Ashley was last seen Wednesday walking in the 4700 block of Water Lark Way.

“Immediately (I) started texting, trying to call her, and there was no response,” said Roger Lyon, Ashley's father.

Ashley’s parents said they had grounded the teen after she was caught hanging out with Steven Myers, 41. Myers is a sex offender with two previous charges for sexual activity with a minor.

“I have at home right now 50 pages, just three days worth of nothing but text messages and video pictures sent from his cell phone to her phone, back and forth,” Michelle Lyon said.

Law enforcement officials and the Lyons said they believe Ashley is with Myers.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a missing child alert Saturday.

Ashley is 5-foot-6, weighs 175 pounds and has a large build. She has black hair – in a crew cut – and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black tank top, black gym shorts and black tennis shoes.

Myers and the missing girl may be traveling in a dark colored 1989 Ford Ranger pick-up truck with flames painted on the front and sides of the vehicle. The truck has a Florida tag – CSJM45. Investigators say they may be in southeastern Hillsborough County.

Ashley's parents also are concerned Ashley may not have taken her medication in several days.

“Sometimes its slurred speech, sometimes it’s staggering but I’ve never seen her without it for this long period of time,” Michelle Lyon said.

In addition to Valrico, the Lyons also distributed fliers in Plant City, near where Myers lives.

Several people told the Lyons they recognized Myers from the area, but had not seen Ashley.

Roger Lyon has a message for Myers.

“Be a real man, and as a father to another father, bring my daughter home,” he said.
