NC State great Russell Wilson in Raleigh Saturday for passing camp

Posted: Updated:

Russell Wilson, the former N.C. State quarterback and Super Bowl XLVII champion with the Seattle Seahawks, will be in Raleigh this weekend for his "Russell Wilson Passing Academy."

RWPA is a football camp for players ages 9-17 and of all positions.

Wilson finished at N.C. State in 2010 as one of the Wolfpack's all-time great players. Wilson ranks second in many career categories for State, including touchdown passes, completions, and passing efficiency. In 2011, Wilson transferred to Wisconsin, where he led the Badgers to the Rose Bowl.

Wilson has had tremendous success in the NFL after being a third-round pick by the Seahawks. In his second season, he led the Seahawks to a Super Bowl title over the Denver Broncos, 43-8. Wilson passed for 206 yards and two touchdowns.

The camp will be held this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Carter-Finley Stadium practice fields.

The camp includes position work, a question-and-answer session, and competitions by age group.

Wilson and his staff work with kids from Seattle to Raleigh to help them work on their skills and better understand the game of football.

The camps are going on from early June to late July. There are spots available for the camp in Raleigh.

The camp costs $175.
