Norris selected to play in MLB Futures Game

Former Science Hill baseball standout Daniel Norris is about to mark a first for players in the Tri-Cities area. Tuesday he was selected to play in the MLB All-Star weekend's Futures Game.

Norris, a pitcher in the Blue Jays system, was just promoted from Single A Dunedin to Double A New Hampshire a week ago after posting impressive numbers there.

For the season, Norris is 6-0 in 14 starts this season with a 1.63 ERA. He's struck out 85 batters while walking just 18 in 72 innings pitched.

He'll play for the United States team in the Futures Game. That's Sunday, July 13.
