Following delay, Orange Avenue sinkhole repairs planned for Thursday

ROANOKE (WSLS) - Crews with the Western Virginia Water Authority will be back at it Thursday morning to repair a sinkhole on Orange Avenue.

Due to unexpected delays and issues with traffic flow on Wednesday, construction was rescheduled to take place on Thursday.

WATER MAIN BREAK ON ORANGE AVENUE CAUSES LANE COLLAPSE

We're told crews will close the westbound lane around 8:30 a.m. as they work to fix the hole.

One lane is expected to be open. You can take Williamson Road as a detour.  Drivers are being asked to slow down when driving over the temporary gravel fill.

It formed after a 12-inch line broke in front of Sheetz Tuesday morning, causing part of the westbound lane to collapse.
