WCPSS releases new bus routes for year-round students

Posted: Updated:

Wake County Public Schools released new bus routes for year-round students Friday.

There's about 150,000 students enrolled in schools in Wake County and 67,000 of them ride the bus.

The school system hopes its new bus route plan will make riding the bus easier and faster for children.

In the past, Wake County Schools assumed that all of its students would need to ride the bus and created bus routes based on where students live.

For the 2014-15 school year, the school system narrowed it down. They drew bus routes based on all the students who rode the bus last year and combined it with those students who signed up to ride this year.

Any child who did not sign up and did not ride the bus last year can still ride the bus by finding the closest route to the.
