A man wanted on charges of attempted murder has been captured after a standoff with Phenix City police Thursday afternoon.

Marshall Sims Jr. was wanted for allegedly shooting at a vehicle with his girlfriend and his 1-year-old child early Thursday morning, police said. Police tell News 3 that no one was injured in the shooting, but Sims Jr. fled the scene.

Police say they later received a tip that Sims Jr. had barricaded himself inside a home on 2nd Street South. Police threw a flash bang grenade into the home and the chemicals made Sims run out of the home and he ran away from police, according to authorities.

Police say they were able to tase Sims Jr. and take him into custody.

No one was injured in the standoff.
