UNC police investigate burglary at Granville Towers

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill police are searching for a person of interest in a reported burglary early Friday at Granville Towers.

Police said a female resident of Granville Towers went to bed around 2 a.m. and woke up around 7 a.m. to find personal belongings in the hallway outside her room.

The resident told police her money was missing from her wallet when it was found in the hallway.

The person of interest is described as a black male in his late 20s to early 30s, medium build with some facial hair. Police said he likely entered the building around 7 a.m.

Anyone with information which might aid in the UNC Police investigation or anyone seeing suspicious activity should call 9-1-1 immediately or contact the Chapel Hill-Carrboro-UNC Crime Stoppers at (919) 942-7515.
