YOLO COUNTY, CA (KCRA/CNN) - In northern California, a fire burning around Lake Berryessa has more than tripled in size since it broke-out Friday night.

California fire says the so-called Monticello fire has charred at least 5,000 acres.

The fire and heavy smoke forced the partial closure of Highway 128 and prompted the temporary evacuation of several homes and campgrounds.

Last reported, the fire was about 30 percent contained.
