Police use plane to catch suspects in West End armed robbery

Posted: Updated:

Police deployed a plane Monday night to help catch several suspects in an armed robbery in Henrico's West End.

Henrico Police say the plane was part of a mission to catch three people who robbed the Shell Station in the 9800 block of West Broad Street around 11:30 p.m.

At least one of the three suspects was armed.

Police caught one almost immediately around West End Drive, but the two others were a bit harder to find - which is why police brought out the plane.

It was reported that at one point, the suspects were running through the neighborhoods. Soon after the plane was deployed, the second suspect was spotted and caught around midnight. The third was found around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. Both were in the West End Drive area.

No one was hurt during the search.
