Man Hospitalized After Being Shot In The Chin

Police are investigating how a man was shot at his northeast Columbus residence. Police are investigating how a man was shot at his northeast Columbus residence.
COLUMBUS, Ohio -

Police are investigating trying to determine what led up to a shooting after a man was found with a gunshot wound to the chin outside of his northeast Columbus residence.

According to Columbus police, at about 1:43 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a home located in the 1700 block of Carolyn Avenue on a report of a man shot.

Detectives say 43-year-old John L. Wright, Jr. was found outside his residence by a friend who was returning home. Wright told his friend that was in the rear of the home when he was shot in the face by an unknown suspect.

The victim was taken to Grant Medical Center in stable condition. He is expected to fully recover from his injuries.

Police continue to investigate the shooting.
