STANLEY, N.C. -

A parent quite literally did backflips after his son's youth baseball team won its district tournament championship game.

Marc Austin is known by the players and parents as the "head cheerleader" for the Youngsville Red All Star team, a team of 7- and 8-year-olds.

After Youngsville defeated Stanley 8-5 Monday night, Austin did five flips across the field to celebrate five straights wins. The team is undefeated in tournament play.

The win Monday advanced Youngsville to the championship round of the N.C. Dixie Youth baseball Coach Pitch Division.

The team also earned an automatic bid to the Dixie Youth World Series in Texarkana, Ark., which begins July 17.
