SPRING, TX (RNN) - A three-hour standoff in Texas has ended and a suspect who allegedly shot seven people has surrendered.

The Harris County Sheriff's Department says the man shot his victims at a home in Spring, TX. Five died on scene and another died at the hospital. Among the dead are four children.

A 15-year-old girl who survived is in critical condition at an area hospital. Despite her injuries, police say she provided key information about the gunman.

"She was able to provide us the name of the person who shot them, where he was going next .. and we caught him going up to that residence where other relatives of that family lived and we assume he meant to shoot them as well," said Ron Hickman with Harris County Constable Precinct Four.

Police say they stationed deputies on the street where they believed he was heading. The suspect drove up within minutes.

The alleged shooter led police on a chase, which ended in a cul-de-sac.

Police blocked off the cul-de-sac with cars and a number of officers armed with drawn guns. The suspect's car was also boxed in by an armored truck and a secured sheriff's truck.

The suspect holed up in the car for around three hours before peacefully surrendering.
