Rex Hospital lockdown due to threatening phone call

RALEIGH, N.C. -

The Rex Hospital medical campus was on lockdown Friday because of a threatening phone call, authorities said.

A lockdown was put into effect for the entire Rex campus at 9:24 a.m.

At 10:30 a.m., only the Medical Plaza at Rex remained under lockdown due to the threatening phone call, authorities said.

The lockdown at the plaza was lifted shortly before noon.

Authorities said “nothing out of the ordinary was discovered.”
