1 dead, 1 injured in New Hope Rd. crash

RALEIGH, N.C. -

A truck ran off New Hope Road in Raleigh early Monday leaving the driver dead and the passenger injured, according to authorities.

The call for a single vehicle accident came in at 2:04 a.m. Monday.

The Chevrolet Silverado, being driven by 21-year-old Denis Ricardo Mineros-Campos, was traveling west on N. New Hope Road from Buffaloe Road when it ran off the road, sideswiped a guardrail and hit a tree.

Mineros-Campos was declared dead at the scene. The passenger, Carlos Alberto Zelada-Rivera, 19, was transported to Wake Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

New Hope Road was shut down between Buffaloe Road and Louisburg Road Monday morning.
