CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -

Ten fiberglass goats painted by local artists will be auctioned off to benefit senior centers in Chapel Hill and Pittsboro.

The public art project, which organizers describes as "celebrating the bond between Orange and Chatham Counties," will feature 10 life-size, fiberglass goat statues that will be hand-painted by local artists.

The goats will be painted at University Mall before their unveiling at the Festifall Arts Festival in Chapel Hill on Oct. 5.

The painted goats will then each be displayed at a one of 10 Chapel Hill-area locations from Oct. 6 to 23, and 10 locations in Pittsboro from Oct. 23 to Nov. 13.
