The Halifax County Sheriff's Office and Weldon Police are searching for a 2nd suspect they say is involved in the shooting death of a teenager.

Police Chief Mark Macon urges anyone with information on the crime to come forward.

They believe 18-year-old Teddy Anderson played a role in killing 15-year-old Keyuon Gardner.

It happened Monday night in the town of Weldon.

Deputies already arrested Semaj Clanton. He's charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder for also shooting two others.

Authorities believe that shooting is connected to another murder just hours later, where a two-year-old was shot and killed in Weldon.

Thursday night, a huge crowd marched through the town, demanding an end to the violence.

"We're trying to just make a statement, trying to make a point, we're not going to stand for this," said Kisha Scott, who attended the march.

"We're sorry that it happened and I, along with every other citizen of Halifax County, continue to express our sympathies to all families involved," said Wes Tripp, Halifax County Sheriff.

The sheriff would not say how the two shootings are related or offer up a motive. But he said the public can expect more arrests.

The Sheriff’s Office requests anyone with information on the whereabouts of Teddy Anderson JR to contact the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office at 252-583-8201, Halifax County Crime Stoppers at 252-583-4444 or Weldon Police Department at 252-536-3136.
