Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina University is hard at works trying to protect students from the weather.

ECU Transit is currently building and renovating seven of the busiest bus stops around campus.

The construction includes building stronger and more durable shelters around the stops to keep students out of the rain, snow, and sun. Additionally, some of the stops will include a covered structure for bikes.

The bus stop shelters are expected to be completed by Oct. 2nd.

ECU Transit is also working on new bus routes for students traveling to and from Uptown Greenville. The Student Government Association is helping fund a bus that at night. The route will run from uptown through the Tar River Neighborhood to River Walk Apartments then circle down to Fifth Street and back to uptown.

This new route will run Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10:30 p.m. - 2:30 a.m.
